My name is Tim Harder and I am a Ph.D. Student in the Protein Structure Group headed by Thomas Hamelryck . The group is part of the Bioinformatics Center of the University of Copenhagen and generally focusses on ab initio protein structure prediction using machine learning approaches.

Tim I have a mixed background, as I started to learn application development at the consultant company CSC Germany . Beside learning about programming and different languages, I got introduced to different techniques on how to organize software development and produce clean code. I then switched to study bioinformatics at the University of Applied Sciences in Bingen . My studies involved many biology/microbiology classes as well as a series of wet lab courses.

Research Interests

I am interested in structural bioinformatics with a focus on protein structures and protein dynamics.

  • Proteins structure prediction
  • Protein side chain sampling
  • Simulating proteins over time
  • Machine learning
